Brandon Lopez makes midweek CARS Tour start at Caraway

After more than a month off, the zMAX CARS Tour Pro Late Model division roared back to life on Wednesday at Sophia, North Carolina’s Caraway Speedway, where Brandon Lopez was part of a stacked 17-car field.

Piloting the No. 6 Terminal Maintenance and Construction Chevrolet SS, Lopez qualified 11th with a 16.751-second lap.

He maintained a position inside the top 10 for much of the $4,000-to-win feature on the 4/10-mile oval, but faded late, taking the checkered flag in the 13th position at the conclusion of the 100-lap race.

With the Firecracker 265 in the books, Lopez sits 12th in the series standings.
