Brandon Lopez steers to 8th at Cordele

Bryson Lopez Racing driver Brandon Lopez raced at his home track on Saturday with a start in the $6,000-to-win Pro Late Model 100-lapper at Cordele Motor Speedway in Georgia.

After a rain delay, Lopez drove his No. 6 Atlanta Paving & Concrete Construction Chevrolet SS to the eighth-quickest time in qualifying, clocking a 16.585-second lap around the 3/8-mile oval.

With the redraw, he started the 21-car feature from the second spot and ran inside the top five early before ultimately recording an eighth-place finish.
